Major General Josiah Bunting III was educated at Virginia Military Academy and Oxford University, and served in the United States Army for six years. He went on to teach history and social sciences at the United States Military Academy, and he served as president of Briarcliff College and Hampden-Sydney College, headmaster of The Lawrenceville School, and Superintendent of VMI. Among his published books are works of both fiction and non-fiction, including highly-acclaimed novels and a book about an ideal college, An Education for Our Time, published by Regnery Press.
Very Rev. Edward Hathaway has served as the Rector of the Basilica of Saint Mary in Alexandria, Virginia since 2015. In 2007, while serving as pastor of Saint John the Baptist Church in Front Royal, Fr. Hathaway helped found Chelsea Academy. (For more on the history of Chelsea Academy, click here.)
He attended Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, and was ordained May 18, 1991, by Arlington Bishop John R. Keating. His first assignment was as parochial vicar of Saint Michael Church in Annandale (1991-1995). In addition to his service to St. John the Baptist (2005-2007), Father Hathaway also served as parochial vicar of Saint Andrew the Apostle Church in Clifton (1995-1999) and the Cathedral of Saint Thomas More in Arlington (1999-2000), and as pastor of Saint John the Beloved Church in McLean (2000-2005) and Saint Veronica Church in Chantilly (2007-2015).
Father Bjorn Lundberg is the pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Winchester. Father Bjorn was raised in an Army family, and grew up in Germany, Texas, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington State. After graduating from Christendom College with a B.A. in History, and interning at Vatican Radio in Rome, Father was an Associate Producer for two years at the Eternal Word Television Network in Irondale, Alabama.
Mr. Michael Mueller is a retired nuclear engineer, having worked for the U.S. Navy and in private industry. Mike then worked for several years for Human Life International at its headquarters in Front Royal. While living in Front Royal, Virginia, Mike was very involved in the life of Chelsea Academy. Mike was one of Chelsea’s first Board members and served for nearly a decade in that role. Mike and his wife Mary recently moved to Georgia to be nearer their sons.
Dr. David Allen White, PhD is Professor Emeritus of English at the United States Naval Academy where he taught for 28 years. Prior to teaching at the Naval Academy, Dr. White taught for several years at Indiana University, Temple University and University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Doc White has written books on subjects related to the hierarchy of the Catholic Church and was a frequent lecturer at the Dietrich van Hildebrand Institute in Gardone Riviera, Italy. He has a particular love of Shakespeare and is the editor of Shakespeare A to Z: The Essential Reference To His Plays, His Poems, His Life And Times, And More. Dr. White has directed and/or acted in more than 100 theatrical productions. He lives in Winchester, Virginia and is a Sacred Heart of Jesus Parishioner.
