Embracing the ancient Greek ideal of mens sana in corpore sano (a healthy mind in a healthy body), Chelsea Academy encourages participation in its sports program as a way of promoting physical development, athletic skills, and team play as well as building character and good sportsmanship in its students.
Chelsea is a member of the Shenandoah Christian Conference (SCC) and competes against other SCC as well as non-conference schools at the Middle School, JV, and Varsity levels. The middle school is additionally a member of the Virginia Middle School Conference (VMSC).
Varsity sports are members of the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association (VISAA) for the purposes of attending state tournaments.
For its practice facilities and home games, Chelsea rents fields and gyms from Rivendell Athletic Club and Virginia International Academy. All sports have home games at Virginia International Academy.
