Hill Country Thrift Trivia Night

Hill Country Thrift, a new thrift store in support of the Front Royal Pregnancy Center is hosting a Trivia Night Fundraiser on Saturday, January 17, 7:00-11:00 pm in Old Chapel Hall at Christendom College. Chelsea parent Stephen Pilon founded Hill Country Thrift with other local business owners to provide funding for the FRPC and thrift store vouchers for their clients. The store will also benefit the broader community as a place to donate goods or shop for deals. They plan to have a store open in Front Royal by summer 2026. For more details, to buy tickets for the event, or to support the store financially, go to the HCT Trivia Night website. If you have questions please reach out to Stephen Pilon at info@hillcountrythrift.org or call 540-660-9628.
St. Columba’s Place Lending Library

GET INVOLVED!
St. Columba’s Place is a private library primarily serving school-age children and their parents. We operate under the auspices of St. John the Baptist Parish in Front Royal.
Thanks to our many generous donors, our collection includes nearly 5,000 books ranging from picture books to college-level in all subjects. We specialize in great children’s picture books and fiction! We also have catechetical and devotional materials for all ages.
And a family membership is free! However, we need help – we need volunteers! Volunteers open the library after Masses, help find and gather books for members, check books in and out, and shelve returned books. It’s fun (especially if you like to be around books!). The software is easy to use, and we will train you!
If you can donate an hour or two of your time every week to make good books available to our community, please email: stcolumbasplace@gmail.com. To find out how to become a member, use the same email!
We thank Father Gee for our convenient new location in the Frassati House right next to Saint John’s and look forward to opening our doors beginning August 24th after the 8:30 and 10:30 Sunday masses. We hope to add more open hours as more volunteers join in!
St. Columba, pray for us!
P.S. Twice a year we hold a book sale and invite others to sell their books and curriculum materials. Our second sale of the year will be October 25th. Please contact us if you would like to rent a table.
