Headmaster

Prior to founding Chelsea Academy, Jonathan Brand served as Chairman of the History Department at St. Anne's-Belfield School in Charlottesville, Virginia, and as Academic Dean at The American School in Switzerland, Lugano, Switzerland.  During his ten years of teaching in Europe, he also led students in cultural excursions to significant sites all over the continent, but particularly France and Italy, where his knowledge of and love for the language, landscape, and culture go deep.  He holds a Bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Virginia and a Master’s in history from The College of William and Mary.  He and his family reside in Front Royal.

Mr. Felix Hernandez is a career diplomat with over twenty years of experience representing American interests in Europe, East Asia, and Canada. With his wife and two sons, he lives in Fauquier County and attends St. Peter Catholic Church.  
   
Rev. Edward Hathaway serves as the Pastor of St. Veronica Catholic Church in Chantilly, Virginia.  
   
Mrs. Sharon Hickson is an instructor of English Language and Literature at Christendom College and the mother of eight children.   
   
Mr. Stephen Lee is a businessman who lives in Sperryville, Virginia, with his wife and seven children. He and his family attend St. Peter Catholic Church in Rappahannock County.  
   
Dr. Patrick Keats is Academic Dean and Associate Professor in the Department of English Language and Literature at Christendom College in Front Royal, Virginia. He and his wife have two children and live in Front Royal.  
   

Mr. Joseph McPherson is the founding Headmaster of Brookewood School in Kensington, Maryland, a member and co-founder of the Avalon Education Group, and former head of The Heights School in Potomac, Maryland, and The American School in Switzerland.

 

Mr. Michael Mueller held numerous leadership positions in the nuclear power operations field for over 33 years before serving as Executive Vice-President of Human Life International for six years. He is now retired and lives with his wife in Front Royal. They have five sons.
